Ace Pilot aliens

Here's a fun one to make: Lots of alien extras!

From left to right:

Bee-lawng-A species with fleshy skirts to protect their young
Coleus-An intergalactic douche. Literally. Coleus means "penis" in Spanish slang.
Unnamed-I have no idea what is this race called yet so there you go.
Rhondorins-Their rank is distinguished by their number of nips. LOL.
Sorics-A diplomatic and manipulative species who uses mind cunning to make up for their frail bodies.

FUN FACT: The Coleus looked nothing like Psycho Sid before the redesign.

Hope y'all diggs! :)

Ace Pilot and extras

Here's a new batch of character designs from Ace Pilot, featuring the suave intergalactic playboy himself, his current squeeze-Sheryl, the race of Lt. Latif and a bunch of losers from a tavern.

Hope you enjoy!

Ace Pilot character lineup

This is a first in the long line of character designs that I'll be churning out for the game series "Ace Pilot". It's a story-driven game that stars "Ace" a master pilot who is better than everyone else. He has a knack for danger, women, and unknowingly makes other people look like utter crap.

From left to right:

The Lieutenant: A leader in the intergalactic police S.U.C.
Kim Jong Krill: The oppressive leader of the Krill who has a bitter past and a score to settle with Ace
Krill soldier: Just a lowly soldier. Tastes good with breading and soy sauce.
Lieutenant Latif: Kim Jong Krill's lieutenant that hides a violent past behind his absolute obedience.
Herman: A cowardly messenger who hates his job, relaying messages especially to Ace.
Sprokit: The most badass mechanic in the universe. He works for Ace.

That's it, hope you dig all these characters! Btw, Hans Van Harken conceptualized and designed these originally, I was just tasked to redesign it to fit the animation.

Cheers!

12-week sketchaholic day 5

New sketch of the day! Can't believe I'm 5 days into this thing and
showing improvements already. Right now I'm focusing more
in curves and caricaturing the face. I just noticed the mullet guy's
right arm is distorted. Oh well, they're just sketches anyway.

Didja like em?

12-week sketchaholic day 3

Well technically this is day 4 as I've been busy with other stuff lately. Thankfully, I managed to sneak a sketch today. Ten minutes is really not enough for drawing time. Got to compensate tomorrow. That's it for now gang, tootles!

Y'all have a great one!

12-week sketchaholic day 2

Yes! Day two is here and I'm still pumped up on sketching! I was planning to do this later but my excitement got the best of me. I was particularly happy with the first sketch as I've nailed down the expression pretty well. The dog is kinda meh but I'll take it. Never sketched animals before. Now I find them exciting cause they do a lot of weird expressions. It's like they're humans.

Without the opposable thumbs of course.

12-week sketchaholic day 1

Earlier today I got sketchbook pro and decided to play with it instead of doing work. I gotta say I am really impressed with it. I used to do morning sketches on photoshop and have gotten tired of it's general heavy feel. It's like you're sketching with a time lapse, but no problems like that on Sketchbook pro. I can even do wide, loose strokes with ease.

With that said, today, I'd be starting a 12 month sketching program. I used to do solely animation work everyday with no sketching which is not a generally good idea. My animation poses became stiff and mechanical so I hope to get rid of that by sketching and improving on my character design skills.
